Matthew Walker

Nimitz Intern

Matthew Walker, an active-duty Navy Lieutenant, is a second-year master’s student in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program. Before commencing graduate studies, he served as the Navigation Officer and Assistant First Lieutenant aboard USS Green Bay (LPD 20) and USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119). He completed multiple deployments as a division officer, including three patrols in the Western Pacific, a carrier strike group deployment to the Middle East, and two surge deployments to the European theater of operations. Matthew is currently assigned to the Fleet Scholar Education Program sponsored by the Naval Postgraduate School. He holds a B.A. in Government and Biology (summa cum laude) from Baylor University.
