Nimitz Internship Program

Nimitz Internship Program Overview:

We are currently accepting applications for our Fall 2026 Nimitz Internship Program. Applications are due 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on July 12th
The Nimitz Internship Program is an integral part of the Center for Maritime Strategy. Interns are included in the day-to-day and strategic operations of the Center’s mission. As members of the intern cohort, individuals will be exposed to all components of think-tank work including the logistical and administrative elements of organizing high-level convenings, the writing process for short-form and long-form research publications, and the planning behind executing strategic initiatives within the organization.
Interns will assist in the Center’s fast-growing programming, as well as development tasks and outreach to its close network of security and strategy experts, officials, and thought leaders.
Successful candidates must have a strong and proven interest in maritime security, naval affairs, defense policy, strategic studies, global affairs, national security, public diplomacy, or a closely related discipline.
We will work with candidates to ensure that they gain academic credit if applicable. Note that students must provide written documentation of eligibility to receive academic credit from their university.
We are not able to sponsor candidates for visas.
Interns will receive a modest stipend to defray living costs.
